Frequently Asked Questions
-
If you’re worried, it’s always reasonable to ask. Common signs include: not using many words by around two, being hard for others to understand when they’re older than three or four, struggling to follow instructions, finding it hard to put sentences together, stammering that persists or causes distress, or not speaking in some settings, such as at school.
Many children catch up on their own, but some need extra support, and early help makes a real difference.
If you’re unsure, an initial conversation or assessment can determine whether therapy would help.
-
No. You can contact me directly, with no GP or school referral needed. If your child already has a diagnosis, an NHS report or an existing EHCP is helpful to share, but it isn’t required to get started. If you’d like me to speak with your child’s school or nursery, I’ll ask for your consent first and keep you informed throughout.
-
Getting started is simple. You can contact me through the contact page or by email.
If you’re unsure whether speech and language therapy is right for you or your child, we can start with a short, informal call. You can tell me a little about your concerns, ask any questions you may have and we can discuss whether I may be able to help.
There is no obligation to book an assessment or therapy afterwards.

Please see my services page for a transparent guide to prices. A block of therapy sessions are available in place of single sessions, as therapy targets are rarely achieved in one stand-alone session.
-
I work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure we are aligned on therapy goals. I use interactive activities, whether therapy takes place online or face to face, considering what is motivating to each individual.

You can reach me anytime via the contact page with a brief description of what you would like support with, and preferred contact method for me to get back to you, or by email stlharriet@hotmail.com . I aim to respond within 2 working days.
